Kaizer Chiefs are at home this evening against Stellenbosch FC at FNB Stadium for their 22nd DStv Premiership match of the season. Both teams’ will play their second encounters in three days after being in action on Saturday against other teams.
Amakhosi travelled to the Mother City and played to a goalless stalemate against Cape Town City at Athlone Stadium. Stellenbosch hosted Royal AM at Danie Craven stadium where they beat the KZN-based side 3-0.
The home team is sitting 7th on the log with 30 points after 21 matches. The visitors are 2nd with 35 points, after playing 20 games.
After making quite a number of changes in the previous matches, coach Cavin Johnson has decided to retain the team that started the previous match against the Citizens when he selected tonight’s starting eleven.
Chiefs will see Edson Castillo return from the FIFA break after missing the last game through suspension. He will be on the bench.
The Glamour Boys will play their 4-2-3-1 formation.
Bruce Bvuma is between the sticks.
In defence, Chiefs will have S’fiso Hlanti on the left, Edmilson Dove and Given Msimango at the centre of defence, and Zitha Kwinika on the right.
Sibongiseni Mthethwa and Siyethemba Sithebe are in the defensive midfield roles.
Flankers are Pule Mmodi, who will be on the left, and Ashley Du Preez will run on the and right. They will have Mduduzi Shabalala as the team’s attacking midfielder.
Wandile Duba is in attack.
Msimango will wear the captain’s armband for the second time in a row.
Blowing the whistle is referee Skhumbuzo Gasa. He will have assistant referees Zakhele Siwela and Patrick Jaftha waving the flags. Buhlebendawo Jobela is the fourth official.
