After three weeks of no competitive action, Kaizer Chiefs will be back on the field this easter weekend when they visit the Athlone stadium on Saturday to battle it out against Cape Town City for three points in the DStv Premiership.

Amakhosi were last in action in the Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates on 9 March, where Pirates won the crunch match 3-2. Cape Town City also lost their last DStv Premiership against Royal AM on 10 March – the final score was 2-0 to Thwihli Thwahla.

Chiefs will be hoping to have their international players back injury-free when they return from their respective national duties after the current FIFA break. This, as the team will be playing two tough games in a space of three days.

Goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma travelled to Algeria with Bafana Bafana for two matches against Andorra and Algeria, while Edson Castillo was in the United States with Venezuela for games against Italy and Guatemala, and Mfundo Vilakazi was in camp with the under-20 national team.

With this upcoming game against the Citizens in Cape Town, Amakhosi will want to get back on track after they went seven games without a loss prior to Soweto Derby a fortnight ago.

On the DStv Premiership log standings, Chiefs are 7th with 29 points after 20 matches. City, on the other hand, are 5th with 31 points after 20 games.

Tickets for the encounter between Chiefs and Cape Town City are on sale through TicketPro online at www.ticketpros.co.za or Spar and Boxer Supermarkets, PostNet, Shell and Sasol filling stations from R80 per ticket.

Supporters in the Western Cape, and those who will be in Cape Town for the Easter holidays, are urged to wear their Gold & Black colours and show support to the Glamour Boys on Saturday afternoon.

Amakhosi and the Citizens will kick off at 15:30 on Saturday at Athlone Stadium in the Mother City.
