Interestingly, it will be the second time Chiefs and SuperSport meet in a space of a week. The two met at FNB Stadium in the Nedbank Cup quarter-final match last Saturday. Chiefs lost the match narrowly on penalties.
There's a football saying "Cup and league matches are a different ball game". And, this will be the case on Saturday. In the league, Chiefs are within touching distance from the top of the table. After a loss against table toppers Cape Town City on Wednesday, Steve Komphela remained resolute, "giving up is not an option," declaring on Amakhosi's title ambitions.
Chiefs are now 4th on the log with a deficit of five points from the log leaders. SuperSport are 5th, trailing Chiefs by five points. Chiefs have played 25 matches, one more than SuperSport.
