Zanzibar is a semi-autonomous region of Tanzania in the Indian Ocean, consisting of a few islands.
Chiefs arrived in Zanzibar City on Unguja, the main island, with a 4-0 cushion from the first leg that was played last Wednesday in South Africa.
“The facilities are fine and are conducive to play our game of football,” commented Solinas, while also taking into consideration the hotel and related logistics.
Amakhosi held their pre-match training session at the match venue, which is the 15 000-seater Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar City.
“The pitch is an artificial turf which is different from what we are used to,” continued Solinas, “but it does allow the play to flow.
“Also, it’s very humid, which will be bring another element into play. We will once again manage the squad, considering the number of back-to back matches we are playing and the travelling.”
Ramahlwe Mphahlele didn’t travel with the team due to a knee injury sustained during Saturday’s encounter against Golden Arrows. “Rama didn’t join,” Solinas confirmed. “We just hope that his injury is not severe.”
