The DStv Premiership is back this weekend as Kaizer Chiefs take on Soweto neighbours Moroka Swallows in the Soweto Derby at FNB Stadium this evening.
The two teams meet for the second time this season after the first meeting in November at Dobsonville Stadium. Chiefs were triumphant in that match through Christian Saile’s solitary goal.
Amakhosi have not lost a match since that game and will want to continue on their upward trajectory by registering another win this evening.
On the log, Chiefs are 6th after 17 matches, with 25 points in the bag, while Swallows are in position 13, with 19 points from their 17 outings.
Coach Cavin Johnson has decided to make four changes to the team, starting with Yusuf Maart replacing Sibongiseni Mthethwa, Pule Mmodi on for Mduduzi Shabalala, Keagan Dolly ahead of Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Ranga Chivaviro will take Christian Saile’s spot.
Chiefs will apply their regular 4-2-3-1 formation.
Bruce Bvuma will be between the posts.
His defence will have Happy Mashiane on the left, Edmilson Dove, together with Given Msimango, at centre-back and Zitha Kwinika will complete the back four on the right.
Edson Castillo is joined by Maart in the middle of the park.
The attacking midfielders are Mmodi on the left, Dolly in the middle and Ashley Du Preez on the right of attack.
Chivaviro leads the attack this evening.
Maart will captain the team.
Today’s match referee is Olani Kwinda. The assistants are Jantjie Dlamini and Cledwin Baloyi. The fourth official will be Moreki Lekwape.
