The Acornbush clash was Moleko’s sixth start this season (2 league and 4 cup games). He also came on in one of the games.
“It’s always good to get an opportunity to play,” the 27-year-old comments.
Moleko is keeping Ramahlwe Mphahlele on his toes, with ‘Rama’ having started 23 official matches so far.
“It’s a healthy competition for the right-back slot,” Moleko says. “We talk a lot with each other. Even during half-time of the game against Acornbush, ‘Rama’ spoke with me, giving me some advice. He told me to sometimes make a run more straight towards the box.”
Moleko entered Bloemfontein Celtic’s youth academy in 2006, joining the first team two years later. He moved to Amakhosi for the 2012/2013 season.
Since, the Glamour Boy has played in 52 official games in the Gold and Black, starting in 41 encounters. He hasn’t scored a goal as yet.
About Wednesday’s clash against Siwelele, Moleko comments: “Celtic have a good team. However, we are in a good space at the moment. We want to take it.”
The full-back’s family still lives in Bloemfontein. “They will all be at the game,” he enthusiastically reacts, “my grandfather, my parents, my brother, my sister and my two kids. It will be wonderful.”
Chiefs play Celtic on the road in an Absa Premiership encounter at the Dr Molemela Stadium on Wednesday, 12 April (kick-off at 19:30).
