Jessica Motaung, Kaizer Chiefs Marketing Director
Christmas is a time for reflection, celebration and spending time with loved ones. From a football perspective, we had a roller coaster of a year. However, the recent changes to the technical team make us feel positive about 2019.
We have been working hard off the field as well. We’ve had several successful activations all over the country, mostly with main sponsor and partner Vodacom and more recently with Medshield. More and more people are getting connected to KC Mobile to get closer to the team.
It’s good to see that our supporters are taking up KC Insurance which is linked to our sponsor, Hollard.
Our KC Stores are also doing well and are frequently visited by numerous of our supporters to check if there are any new products or other interesting things to buy. We are proud about our eight KC Stores countrywide and we are happy that you have adopted these stores as your home-away-from-home.
A big thank you goes to the thousands who’ve joined the rapidly growing digital revolution by making use of our KC DigiStore to make their Kaizer Chiefs merchandise purchases for themselves, family and friends.
We are also excited about the Toyota Zone that has been created for our home games at FNB Stadium, where supporters who have bought a ticket and drive a Toyota have free and safe parking. This has also resonated well with our supporters as this benefit has been very well supported.
We would like to thank our other partners – Medshield, SuperSport, Carling Black Label, Kaelo Xelus, ProTours and SMSA who have supported us throughout the year.
Above all, we want to thank our loyal supporters who have continued to support us through thick and thin – we value your dedication and passion and it inspires us to strive to do better.
Christmas is a period to reach out to those less fortunate. If you are in a position to help someone this festive season, we urge you to do so. Kindness is so easy to share and can make a massive difference to people’s lives.
It’s important to respect diversity, because what makes us different also makes us stronger. Together, we can map out a path forward and achieve our dreams.
Please drive safely – take a break after every two hours and don’t drink and drive. We would love to have all our Amakhosi back safely in 2019.
I hope you will spend time with friends and family. Spending time together is what bonds us. It’s a time to wish one another joy and Love & Peace.
God bless Amakhosi and God bless the team. Celebrate graciously and do so in moderation.
Happy Holidays and we hope to you see you all in the New Year when we host Mamelodi Sundowns at FNB Stadium on 5 January 2019.
