Follow the simple steps below to get your funeral insurance claim processed as quickly as possible.

Please notify us of your intent to claim within 24 hours of the event. If this isn’t possible, call us as soon as possible on the toll-free number below.

Natural Death
In the event of a natural death, we need the following documents to process your burial insurance policy payout:
- Funeral claim form
- Certified copy of death certificate
- Certified copy of identity document of both the insured and beneficiary
- Certified documentary proof of marriage (if applicable)
- BI1663 - notification of death (obtainable from a doctor or funeral parlour)
Unnatural Death
In the event of an unnatural death, Hollard requires the following documents to process the funeral policy payout:
- Funeral claim form
- Certified copy of death certificate
- Certified copy of identity document of both the insured and beneficiary
- Certified documentary proof of marriage (if applicable)
- BI1663 - notification of death (obtainable from a doctor or funeral parlour)
- Police report
- Road traffic accident report (if applicable)
- Full post-mortem report
- Valid South African driver’s license (if applicable)
