Amakhosi coach, Cavin Johnson feels satisfied with his squad’s build-up to their Nedbank Cup Last 32 tie against National First Division (NFD) outfit, Milford FC at FNB stadium on Sunday evening.

At the conclusion of Amakhosi’s final training session ahead of the match, Coach Johnson tells www.kaizerchiefs.com that “the players are calm. They are happy and ready to play. That is what we look for at this stage of the preparation, to be ready to go out and do justice to the Kaizer Chiefs brand.”

The Amakhosi faithful will be hoping for a better showing against the underdogs than they witnessed in Chiefs’ scoreless draw in their last outing.

It is something Coach Johnson also recognises and says that they have identified and addressed areas where they believe needed improvement.

“Well, we drew our last game against Royal AM and we weren’t very happy with our performance, but I must say, the players have responded well and are highly motivated to show that they have corrected their mistakes,” he reveals, adding “We are at home, at FNB, and we want our fans to come out and support us because it really helps the team when they feel that incredible love that only comes from Kaizer Chiefs. We are going out there to give our best in order to go through to the next round.”

The Coach says he has ignored the fact that their opponents play in a lower division and has selected a strong team that he is confident will go out and get the job done.

“Apart from players who are unavailable, we have a strong squad and are not taking our opponents lightly simply because they play in the NFD. We are well aware of the potential for an embarrassing upset, and we do not want that. We have picked a team that we believe will win this match,” he says.

In conclusion, Coach Johnson emphasises just how badly they all want to end the wait for silverware, promising the supporters, “As a team, the players and technical staff, we feel a strong sense of unity and we have all made a pledge to each other to give everything to win this trophy for our fans.”

The match kicks off at 18:00 at FNB stadium in Nasrec.

Tickets are still on sale through TicketPro online at www.ticketpros.co.za or Boxer Supermarkets, PostNet, Shell and Sasol filling stations at R40 per ticket.
