Also back in training with the squad and still undergoing rehab is full-back Tsepo Masilela. “Tsepo has recovered from his ankle injury,” says Milner. “He is on continuous assessment to get him ready for full training.”
There is a ray of hope coming from the medical room when it comes to the recently signed Kabelo Mahlasela, “Mahlasela has started with rehab in the gym,” Milner adds. “He is doing cardio and leg strengthening. He is still using crutches and a brace. We are looking at eight weeks to go before he resumes training on the pitch.”
Philani Zulu injured his ankle and was stretchered off during the Bidvest Wits game on the weekend. “Zulu sprained his ankle,” the Kaizer Chiefs physiotherapist explains. “He is undergoing treatment and will be under assessment throughout the week.”
Meanwhile, George Maluleka has a calf strain and will also be evaluated throughout the week.
The good news in the camp is that the duo of Joseph Molangoane and Teenage Hadebe are eligible for selection for the next match after they served suspensions for respectively a red card and four bookings.
Amakhosi welcome Golden Arrows in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 on Sunday, 11 February. The match is scheduled to take place at the FNB Stadium (kick-off is 15:30).
