Kaizer Chiefs will celebrate 34 glorious years of existence on January 7 as they resume the Castle Premiership title charge following a short Christmas break.

Amakhosi host Cape Town club Hellenic who seemed to have turned the corner with a 1-0 victory against Sundowns on December 21 following a frustrating first half. It was Hellenic’s first win of the campaign and if their performance on the day was anything to go by, them Amakhosi will have their hands full on Wednesday night. Kick-off is at 20:00.

It is vital for Amakhosi to notch up another victory especially on this special day. A positive result will see the Glamour Boys take another bold step forward in the title race. Chiefs will not be in action for the duration of the African Cup of Nations as they have more than three players in the Bafana Bafana squad.

The continental showpiece gets underway on January 24 and will last until February 14. Bafana are expected in camp from Wednesday to start preparing for their Cosafa Cup match against Mauritius on January 10 in Curepipe.
