Amakhosi head coach speaks to www.kaizerchiefs.com at the conclusion of the squad’s final training session ahead of their DStv Premiership Soweto derby against Moroka Swallows at FNB stadium on Saturday:

On the preparation for the match

We have prepared well. After the Nedbank Cup game we have to come back quickly, and we’re looking good. We have spoken to them, and they have spoken amongst themselves, and I think they are ready for tomorrow’s game. We’re going to put up a very, very tough fight tomorrow.

How to prepare to play Swallows after all the changes there

Whatever state they are in, we know that it’s a derby and we are preparing accordingly, and we’ll come out fighting because we need to redeem ourselves. We know they have changed quite a few of their players, but that doesn’t bother us. It’s our home game so we have prepared to take the initiative. We realise that every team that comes to play us at FNB (stadium) gives 150%, so we will come out and put up 350%.

On keeping focus on the two games before the Soweto Derby against Pirates

It’s always a thing at the back of our, and the players’ minds, but we have emphasised that this particular game against Swallows is about redemption, not to mention that it is also a Soweto derby, and that is the only thing we are concentrating on at this present moment.

Message to the fans

Please come out in numbers to support the team. Please keep faith in the style we are trying to master. We will rise; that I can promise you, and when we do rise the glory will be for all of you.

The DStv Premiership clash kicks off at 17:45 on Saturday, 2 March at FNB stadium in Nasrec.
