Coach Steve Komphela has also decided to bring Siphiwe Tshabalala back into the team for the Soweto Derby. The midfielder started the last three matches on the bench, coming on as a substitute. It means that Hendrick Ekstein is on the bench.
It will be Tshabalala’s 31st Soweto Derby, which is the record of players making an appearance in the Derby since the formation of the PSL in 1996. He has scored four. Shabba’s first Derby came on 24 November 2007 (away, 2-2 draw). His most recent Derby was the goalless draw on 21 October 2017 (Chiefs’ home game, 0-0 draw).
Teenage Hadebe is still out injured, which means that Siyabonga Ngezana continues to start.
