“I don’t plan to score special goals – I want to score as many goals as possible to help the team win matches. At the end of the day, it’s all about the team, not about me.”
Khama scooped the best goal award for the curled goal from 25-yards against SuperSport United. It was presented on Thursday afternoon at the PSL headquarters.
“I tried to pass the ball to a teammate,” remembers the Zimbabwean. “The ball deflected against the opposition player. I got the ball again and I saw a gap, spotting that the goalie didn’t have enough of a view. I went for goal and thankfully beat the goalkeeper.”
On the season so far, with two league games and a cup final to go, Khama says, “We’ve made mistakes and we want to make sure that we finish the season on a high note.
“When I collect awards like this, I think of my teammates who do well in their roles. Without my teammates I wouldn’t be here.”
The award goes with a trophy and a R5 000 cheque.
