The DStv Premiership has one offering this afternoon in the form of an intriguing match between Kaizer Chiefs and TS Galaxy, billed for the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.
Chiefs will gunning for another win after collecting maximum points last Sunday when they hosted Royal AM at their other home venue, the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
The hosts are also on a high after demolishing Golden Arrows 4-0 in their last league match.
Following other matches that took place on Friday and Saturday, Chiefs remain in position five on the DStv Premiership log, with 27 points after 18 matches. Galaxy who were 10th after their win have moved down to position 12 two places and have 22 points in the bag after 19 outings.
Amakhosi’s injury woes continue as two right-back players, Reeve Frosler and Dillan Solomons, sustained injuries in the last match against Royal AM. The two defenders will be out for no less than six weeks according to the medical team. Another player that will be out for a while is Nkosingiphile Ngcobo who had an operation this past week.
The three players join Khama Billiat, who also went under the knife midweek, and Cole Alexander who has been out for over a month, on the sidelines.
Given the situation at right-back, coach Arthur Zwane has been forced to shuffle his defence restoring Zitha Kwinika to the side to replace the injured Frosler.
After a good game 2-0 win against Royal AM, coach Zwane has opted to keep changes to a minimum, with the other ten players keeping their positions in the starting eleven.
The team will again play a 4-5-1 formation this afternoon.
The goalkeeper is Brandon Petersen.
Last week’s man-of-the-match, opening goal scorer Sfiso Hlanti starts again at left-back. Edmilson Dove will be reunited with Zitha Kwinika at the centre of Amakhosi’s defence, while Siyabonga Ngezana moves to the right of Chiefs’ defence.
Siyethemba Sithebe and Yusuf Maart will man the midfield.
Mduduzi Shabalala remains in front of the two holding midfielders. On the left wing will be the other goal scorer from the last game, Ashley Du Preez, and Keagan Dolly will feature on the right flank.
Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana will be upfront.
Dolly will once again wear the captain’s armband.
The referee for today is Olani Kwinda. He is assisted by Athenkosi Ndongeni and Kgara Mokoena. The fourth official is Thabo Mkhabela.
Glamour Boys and Galaxy will kick off at 15:30 at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit. The match will be live on SuperSport’s PSL Channel 202 on DStv, and various SABC radio stations - with regular updates of the match on Twitter @KaizerChiefs.
