The players - still in Seoul - have just completed a stretching session in the hotel gym and are preparing for dinner. Their flight is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 8am and landing in Busan at 9am, weather conditions permitting.

Besiktas tie hangs in the balance

Preparations for Amakhosi's final Group A match against Turkish club Besiktas hit a stag as the Glamour Boys were grounded in Seoul due to a heavy storm around South Korea on Thursday.

Chiefs lost the first two matches (2-1 against Lyon on Tuesday and 1-0 to Seongnam on Thursday) and it is crucial for them to end on a high note by at least getting a result against Besiktas.

Chiefs are scheduled to play the Turkish champions on Saturday at Busan (12:00 SA time, live on SS6) but according to brand manager Vivian Casaletti, if weather conditions do not improve the game might not take place on Saturday. The Turks do not have the same problem as they are based in Busan.

"There's nothing much the team can do right now as their training kit and most of the luggage has been sent to Busan,” said Casaletti. “The team is currently resting and we will only hear from the organisers around 16:00 (09:00 SA time)."

Casaletti says the team has had little time to rest as they have been on the road for most of the time between training grounds and match venues. "It's important for us to do well against Besiktas and I suppose if conditions do not improve, the players will just have to stretch in the gym," she said.
