The match is billed for Saturday at FNB Stadium. Kickoff is at 20:15.
"The energy in our camp is electrifying. The lads are hungry and promising to win tonight. At this stage of the league we know what to expect from City. We saw them when they defeated Sundowns last week. So far we've not seen much in terms of their activity in the January transfer window period," said Komphela.
"We will make adjustments in our approach," said Komphela referring to the suspensions of Siyabonga Ngezana and George Maluleka. "We have cover in all areas though. Philani Zulu is cleared to play which will give us a good sleepless night in terms of the selection."
Five points separate the two teams. "It is still tight on the log," said Komphela. "There's a small margin separating the top and the bottom half. But, soon the gap will start to open up. We want to be in the leading pack before the breaking point."
"The window period has also added some spice in the team," said Komphela following the infusion of new blood in the Amakhosi camp. "We are observing the new arrivals and so far we think we have found the missing pieces in our play."
The new arrivals are Leonardo Castro, Siphelele Ntshangase and Kabelo Mahlasela.
"Mahlasela is unfortunately out with an injury," confirmed Komphela. "We trust that with his positive spirit, Mahlasela will be back soon. Leonardo and Siphelele have jelled well in with team."
Komphela played cards close to his chest,” we have worked out a plan,” he concluded without giving away much about his starting lineup. “All the players have shown positive energy and you can see that they all want to participate in the team. We will field the best team on Saturday.”
