Thursday evening supporters start leaving their home on their long journey to Naturena. All through the night Facebook is updated with progress reports - Worscester, Touws River, Beauford West, Colesburg, Craddock, Queenstown, Aliwal North, Estcourt, Montrose, Harrismith, Bloemfontein, Edenburg, Kroonstad and then it’s the final stretch home.
By Friday afternoon, the Village is teeming with jubilant, yet travel weary supporters, who know that they have arrived at a place where they clearly belong and feel right at home.
After completing a registration process, supporters are able to enjoy some amazing retails special deals, interact with KC Mobil and KC Insurance and touch base with key club supporters’ staff. There is always something happening at the Village as a build-up to the game. It could be a GIG RIG or a time capsule, a DJ or even an outside broadcast by a major radio station. You might even be lucky enough to meet on of your hero’s.
Old friends unite, new friendships are formed as every person arriving at the Village is given a warm Amakhosi welcome. It’s at times like this that ‘Amakhosi Family of millions’ truly comes to life. Loud singing goes hand in hand with hugs and handshakes, big happy smiles, loud laughter and friendly banter.
On Saturday morning the Village welcomes supporters from the Free State, North West, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape and KZN start arriving in numbers as well as local supporters from across Gauteng. The Village closes the gate at 11:30 as we don’t want our supporters to get to the stadium late.
We know that the stadium is going to be predominately Gold because not only are we are the biggest Club in Africa but our supporters will be wearing their GOLD and need to sit together so that we really dominate the stadium.
