The right back is hopeful that Chiefs can continue their winning ways, in what will be challenging conditions away to Black Leopards on Saturday in Thohoyandou.
The defender is pleased to have played a part to help Chiefs bounce back after their loss to SuperSport United, the first match after the Christmas/New Year break, to win their last two outings.
“We have teams chasing us,” reflects Moleko, who joined Amakhosi from Bloemfontein Celtic in 2012, “so it was important that we won our last two games. We showed character.”
The 30-year-old defender has played in four Absa Premiership clashes for the Glamour Boys this season, starting in three. In the matches he played, Amakhosi managed to win three and kept three clean sheets. He is pleased to have contributed to the team’s recent victories.
“I am always happy to get game-time and it is good when you are able to come in and help the team get a result,” the defender comments. “The objective is to do well and to keep clean-sheets in these last two games was a positive. The partnership at the back was good and so was the communication between us”.
With Chiefs heading to the Limpopo province in the far north of the country for their next game against Black Leopards on Saturday afternoon, Moleko believes that it will take a lot out of the players.
About Saturday’s challenging hot conditions, Moleko says: “It will be crucial to manage the game. It will be a tough game physically, but we have the experience to play well in those conditions. We need to perform as we have done in recent times and if that happens, things will go our way.”
Moleko adds that it is vital for Amakhosi to string together a run of wins, which will help them in their bid to keep ahead in the title race.
“We always say that we take it one game at a time which is important,” the defender concludes, “but we also look forward to go on an extended winning run – this is what we are looking at and it will be a test to see if we can manage that objective”.
