Just days after an outstanding performance in the quarterfinals of the Coca Cola Cup, Kaizer Chiefs veteran striker, Kenny Niemach appeals to the clubs’ masses to patient with him as these are still early days and his best yet to come.

Speaking at the launch of the Amakhosi’s official website on Monday night in Rosebank, Niemach feels some fans have not to being fair on him, as far as giving him time to adjust to the club’s set-up.

"Chiefs is a very big team and the fans are used to success, therefore it is not always easy for players to adjust," said the former Sundowns striker.

"It is important for fans to understand for a player to give out his best, he needs time to familiarise himself with the new surrounding.

"Some people feel the club made a wrong choice by signing me but I think otherwise. I don’t believe the management and the coaching staff would have signed me if they did not believe in my abilities.

"Yes, I am a striker and to some, my sole purpose in the team is to score goals, which is true but I also think I was also brought in to help stabilise the fairly young side. The team is full of youngsters, who still need a lot guidance, and I think this is where my experience come into play."

One needs to look no further than the Coca-Cola Cup quarterfinal against Manning Rangers to see just how effective Niemach’s experience has been lately.

Just as everyone thought Amakhosi would have to endure with their second consecutive defeat after Rangers, who took the lead minutes into the second half of this prestigious competition, the dread-locked striker rose to the occasion and lifted his side from the doldrums.

It was Niemach's outstanding pin-point cross that found the unmarked Shaun Permall in the Rangers penalty box for the former Ajax man to give Amakhosi the lead after Jabu Pule had equalised matters a few minutes earlier.

It was again Niemach, who dummied the Rangers defence and supplied Permall with the ball for the youngster to put to the game beyond Rangers reach with a brilliant strike just minutes after he came on as a substitute.

"I truly feel my game is improving with every game that I play and the coaching staff is pleased. Every team has their own game plan and Chiefs’ is definitely different from the other teams and I believe I have made huge strides towards adjusting.

"The coach is also doing a great job by trying to give everybody a chance to play because not everyone can be at their utmost best in every game, so by playing different players every time, he is merely trying to get the best out of all the players.

"At the moment, I am truly happy with the way things are going on at Chiefs and I strongly believe we will do very well this season and I would like to help out in every way possible," added the man, who has been dubbed King Kenny.

Whichever you look at it, Niemach, at the age of 29, is still one of the best strikers we have in country and his experience is definitely second to none.

All that is evident is the way the player handles himself on and off the field and as much as most would like to admit, Chiefs have found a gem in the former Moroka Swallows and the now defunct Cape Town Spurs striker.
