Hunt is expected to make a few changes to the team that played the last game of 2020 against Agosto in December as some players are not available for this afternoon’s clash.
“We expect Primeiro de Agosto to be a different side when they play at home, but we need to create chances and get that important away goal as quickly as we can,” says Hunt.
Bruce Bvuma and Samir Nurković are in the squad that’s in Angola after a long absence. Bvuma comes in for Itumeleng Khune, who has not trained for a number of days due to ill health.
“It’s a big plus having Samir Nurković back from injury but he’s not very fit and hopefully we can get him up to speed as soon as we can,” adds Hunt. “We should be careful about putting all the pressure on him, but slowly he will get back to his best.”
The team only held one training session in Angola as opposed to the planned two sessions. They trained at the match venue on Monday afternoon and all the players looked sharp and ready to start this afternoon.
“We would have liked to train on Sunday, but we were not allowed,” confirms Hunt. “We did a bit of preparation in South Africa so the restrictions here in Luanda won’t affect us much. The situation is a bit disconcerting but that’s what you should expect when you play in this competition, so we need to be brave and play positively and hopefully score that important away goal.”
The match will be played at the 11 de Novembro Stadium in Luanda under very strict restrictions. Kick-off is at 16:00 local time (17:00 in SA) and updates will be provided on our social media platforms.
