The announcement was made on Wednesday after a meeting between Western Province Rugby (Pty) Ltd, South African Football Association (Safa, Premier Soccer League (PSL), Hellenic, Ajax Cape Town, Cape Town Unicity and the ministry of Sport and Recreation.
Ajax and Pirates will lock horns at 12:00, while Hellenic and Chiefs would seal the day at 15:00.
A further announcement was that no tickets would be sold at the stadium on the match day.
The PSL and stadium management will shortly announce all match arrangements including ticketing, security and traffic plans.
WP Province Rugby (Pty) Ltd was unequivocal in its support for the stadium to be used to host these matches.
It was agreed by all parties that immediate preparations be put in place to ensure that the public of Cape Town are part of a day of football unprecedented in the Mother City.
The matches will be played under the auspices and control of the PSL, utilising the infrastructure of WP Rugby.
All parties are encouraged by the support and approval of the Unicity.
Rugby and soccer have embraced each other, and have committed themselves to open communication that will ensure that no future misunderstandings occur.
