Back by popular demand is the My Kasi segment on Kaizer Chiefs TV which sees striker Ryan Moon take us to his kasi in Pietermaritzburg. We get a sneak peek into the life of Moon while meeting the people such as his older brother, Bryce, and the community that has helped shape his life. The young striker also recounts his impressive footballing journey that has brought him to Chiefs Village in Naturena.
The Village is not only home to Moon but many young footballers who would like to follow a similar admirable path in football.
In a separate segment, we feature the annual team photoshoot which not only covers the senior team but all the youth teams. The annual shoot is a source of pride for the players young and experienced because it is about etching their faces into Kaizer Chiefs history.
On the subject of history, the Soweto Derby is arguably the biggest event on the South African sporting calendar and it is no surprise that the preparation and fanfare heading into the occasion brings the country to a standstill.
Supporters across rivalry lines have lived the occasion across numerous Derbies over the years, yet there are those individuals who come into direct contact with the Derby for the first time with every instalment.
In tonight’s episode of KCTV, we document individuals who participated in the Soweto Derby for the very first time.
Amakhosi’s legendary coach Jeff Butler had lived the Derby across four coaching stints with the Glamour Boys. However, this was the first time his sons attended the Derby while on a pilgrimage to the club their late father held so dear.
KCTV shows the Derby through several viewpoints as we also profile a supporter attending the match at the stadium for the first time.
All of this and more can be expected in the penultimate KCTV episode of 2018. Tune in to SuperSport 4 – DSTV channel 204 – on Thursday, 29 November to catch all the action.
