Kaizer Chiefs lost 2-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns in front of a passionate crowd in the capital city, Tshwane on Saturday.
The Glamour Boys scored first through ‘Rama’, his first goal since becoming an Amakhosi at the beginning of the season, before the Brazilians turned the tables to win the match. The right-back’s stunner came in the 39th minute of the match.
“While walking through the Loftus Versfeld tunnel I didn’t know what to expect from the home crowd,” comments Mphahlele. “We planned thoroughly for the match. I thought we deserved something out of it. However, we can’t blame anyone, we just have to go on and focus on the preparations for the next match.”
According to Mphahlele, the next game is always important:
“We do not have a choice. We just have to go on and do the job against SuperSport United on Wednesday. The Sundowns match is now water under the bridge.”
The Glamour Boys welcome Matsatsantsa on Wednesday, 23 November 2016, at FNB Stadium. Kick-off is at 19:30. Tickets for the match are sold at Computicket for R40.
