This is an attempt by the league and the sponsors to encourage supporters to get to the stadium early. The SA Masters’ clash against England Masters earlier this year proved the veterans still had a thing or two to show.
Most of the stars of yesteryear shot to fame during exciting Top Eight competitions and this match will also be in recognition of their contribution to this knockout competition.
Former greats like Pule "Ace" Ntsoelengoe, Duncan Crowie, Bashin Mahlangu and Mlungisi "Professor" Ngubane will be in action against Zambian stalwarts like Peter Kaumba and Evans Sakala.
However, Zambian veteran Kalusha "King Kalu" Bwalya will not make the trip south as his Mexican club could not release him. Bwalya, who is assistant coach at the club, expressed his desire to play in this historical match but the club was reluctant to release him.
Zambia, who has played their own Top Eight competition for over 30 years, hosted their final last week, with Power Dynamos winning the coveted prize.
The gates will open at 10:00, with the curtain raiser set for a 13:00 kickoff. Supporters have been urged to buy tickets early at Ticketweb outlets countrywide.
