The 17-year-old, who will play on the wing, caused a stir when coming on in the recent fixture against Polokwane City. Sifama used his speed and technique in that encounter to cause problems for the opponent’s defenders, even creating a penalty for Amakhosi which won the game 3-2.
Meanwhile, Lebogang Manyama and Mulomowandau ‘Tower’ Mathoho are back in the starting XI.
Manyama missed the last fixture against Stellenbosch FC, as he was nursing an injury. Mathoho was given a break, as the tall defender was on three yellow cards.
Chiefs and Sundowns met each other in October last year at Pretoria’s Loftus Versfeld, with Amakhosi taking the three points home thanks to a 2-0 win. Both goals were scored by Samir Nurković.
The Serbian striker, however, will miss tonight’s encounter due to suspension.
Another attacker, Leonardo Castro won’t play either, as the Colombian is nursing a hamstring strain. He has since left the bubble and will not take part in the remaining matches of the current season.
It means that Lazalous Kambole will lead Amakhosi’s attack, backed up by Manyama.
The Zambian striker netted the equaliser on Sunday to draw 1-1 against Stellenbosch. It was the Zambian’s first goal wearing the Gold and Black jersey.
Daniel Akpeyi will continue in goal, with Kgotso Moleko (right-back), Mathoho, Daniel Cardoso and Yagan Sasman completing the backline.
Willard Katsande will again be the captain and will be partnered in central midfield by Bernard Parker. Sifama and Reeve Frosler will man the wings.
Sundowns narrowly beat Golden Arrows on Monday, netting an injury time winner thanks to Themba Zwane.
It all means that Amakhosi are still on top of the league table with 53 points. That’s three points ahead of Masandawana, with both teams having played 26 matches.
The referee is Victor Gomes, while his assistants are Zakhele Siwela and Athenkosi Ndongeni. Victor Hlungwane will be the fourth official.
Chiefs will host Sundowns at Orlando Stadium with a 18:00 kick-off time. No spectators will be allowed in the stadium. The game will be broadcast live on the DStv channel SuperSport 4 and various SABC radio stations, with commentary coming through the Twitter handle, @KaizerChiefs
