“We’re so humbled and we really appreciate it. I don’t have the words to explain how I’m feeling, it was so unexpected,” continued Arends, who found out about the #KCCouch competition through a post on the official Kaizer Chiefs Instagram page.
Arends and his two friends, Rapulana Basnere and Anthony Masondo, made the trip from Richards Bay to Moses Mabhida Stadium where they were recipients of a Kaizer Chiefs VIP experience. The trio and Manyama were in close proximity to the action and had the pleasure of watching the game on the elegant #KCCouch which can be best described as a hybrid of VIP suites and the stands.
“It was a nice sitting with Lebza (Manyama) who is a cool and humble guy,” added Arends. “This was one of the greatest experiences supporters can have and I’m sure my two friends I brought along can vouch for that.”
The Best Seat in the House is a competition run by Kaizer Chiefs at home matches played at Moses Mabhida Stadium. Arends mentioned that he had been aware of the competition before, although he never envisaged that he would be the lucky recipient of occupying the Best Seat in the House.
“I’m well aware of the #KCCouch competition, this time I decided to take a chance. At some point, I couldn’t even tell who my host was because you guys are so professional. You have a certain standard and you keep by it,” Arends went on with Basnere and Masondo nodding in agreement.
“I encourage all Kaizer Chiefs supporters to enter — not specifically this competition but other competitions as well. There is no other team that is doing what Kaizer Chiefs is doing.”
