Kaizer Chiefs will tonight take on Madagascan outfit Elgeco Plus FC in their 1st round of the CAF Confederation Cup. This much anticipated match is scheduled to take place at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Leading to this tie Amakhosi thrashed Zanzibar’ Zimamoto 5-2 on aggrregate. Meanwhile, Elgeco Plus paved their way to this round via a narrow 4-3 win over Unidad of Uganda.
“You feel a sense of relief in the team after the game on Wednesday,” said Ernst Middendorp and proceeded, “it’s a close call from Wednesday’s game. I think today it’s getting the players refreshed. We will get a good sense of readiness on Saturday morning.”
Kickoff is at 20:15.
Chiefs won their domestic league match on Wednesday beating local nemesis Supersport United 1-0. “We played with purpose on Wednesday,” reflected Middendorp. “we will not effect much changes in this encounter.”

Watching Elgeco on the video review, “they look dangerous and organized,” said Middendorp. “We will have to play well to beat them. We want to take a good lead to Madagascar.
Match officials are confirmed from Botswana as referee Tirelo Mositwane, 1st and 2nd Assistants Mogomotsi Morakile and Moemedi Monakwane respectively. The fourth official is Omphile Phuthego. The match commissioner from Mauritius is Bhai Mustapha Bhai Chitbahal.
