On the preparation for TS Galaxy:
We had a very good week of preparation. Coming back from Cape Town, the boys were well rested and they feel much fresher coming into this game. The boys look very sharp and are looking forward to putting in a good performance against TS Galaxy in Mbombela.
On the status of the squad:
We have 99% of the players available that we took to Cape Town and the squad looks very strong. On the technical and tactical side of things, we are well prepared to go into this game.
On what to expect from the Rockets:
We have watched them play in the last two matches and done our normal analysis of our opponents, picking up on their strengths and weaknesses. I think, at the moment they have more points than us on the table, so we are the ones who have to work very hard to get maximum points. We are fully aware we are playing away, but every game we play as Kaizer Chiefs we play as a home game, because of the number of supporters that come out to support the team. We are looking forward to a very good game to make our supporters happy and make ourselves happy, as we are still to win a game in the DStv Premiership.
On approaching the marathon of the league season:
When we started we said we would take things game by game and that every opponent is the same, in that we are both fighting for the same points and have to approach every game, according it the respect it deserves. For us there is no big or small team, they are all teams we compete with in the DStv Premiership and the points are the same. The one we play tomorrow is no different to the one we’ve played before and we are looking forward to doing our best and to ensure consistency as a team and as individuals, coming off a good performance in the MTN8 against Cape Town City.
On setting objectives for the season:
What is important is that we have a plan for the year, divided into the first and second rounds and, within that, there are the subdivisions of league matches and Cup games. Consistency comes from that. If you approach the season with one objective of playing to win every game, it calls for all of us to be consistent in achieving our objective. We always say we are driven by the objective and the objective is for Kaizer Chiefs to win matches and get back the confidence of playing every game the same way, with the same intensity, and playing to win.
On how to keep the focus on league games, as major MTN8 Cup ties loom:
We are not in a position to worry about the games to come. We are worried about us delivering against TS Galaxy and we will go back to prepare for the next game against AmaZulu, then Stellenbosch,.Then we can focus on the big MTN8 semi-finals to come.
