On the mood in the camp coming off a loss:
We are coming off a defeat after doing well for some time, so it's a case of having to pick ourselves up and keep the spirit high in the camp while, at the same time, making sure we get maximum points to build the team going forward.
Injury update:
We have players who are not going to be available for this one. A notable one will be Keagan Dolly, who is going to be out until the end of the season.
Playing personnel and approach for Chippa United:
We are going to try and tweak the team here and there to get the right balance. It's going to be between Happy (Mashiane) and (Kgaogelo) Sekgota (to replace Dolly). We are going to see who is going to be mentally and physically ready for this game. The fact that we have been playing back to back also took a lot from the players, so we will try and manage some of them, because we don't want to risk injuries.
Chippa objective:
We are here in PE to get maximum points, because we want to keep the momentum going and get on a positive winning streak, like we did before the defeat.
On the mentality and desire in the squad:
In football, there are no easy games. We prepare for the games with the same attitude, desire and discipline. We know, as a team of Kaizer Chiefs calibre, when we go through a slump or lose a game it's not an easy thing to take, especially given the following we have. It knocks them down. For us, it's how we pick ourselves up from that. It's a setback but it's not a train smash, we now have to come back and show that we are good enough to be part of the plans going forward, because we want to build a very strong team. It's one of those things we can live with and learn from, but move on at the same time.
Managing workload and upcoming challenges:
Next up is Swallows and then the Soweto Derby in the Nedbank Cup semi-final. There are many things that are playing in our players' heads, such as, 'I want to be part of the Soweto Derby but I don't want to risk an injury or suspension'. As a coach, those are the things I am going to have to try and manage -to help players not to think about, but to think about the job at hand, which is the next task against Chippa United, and the following one which is Swallows. Then, from there we can start talking about the Soweto Derby.
