The reserve side won 4-1 with the goalscorers being Sizwe Twala (a brace), Kgomotso Rorwana and Given Thibedi. The game was played at Dobsonville Stadium.
Happy Mashiane, who signed earlier this week a contract with the first team, had an excellent game at left-back for the Amakhosi Reserves. Rorwana was another who showed his class, as the playmaker in central midfield.
Ramahlwe Mphahlele got a chance to get some match fitness, playing for the reserves as a centre-back, delivering a good performance.
Chiefs Reserves will next face Polokwane City Reserves at Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday, 26 January (kick-off at 12:00). The young Glamour Boys are presently in seventh spot on the log table, with 18 points from 12 matches. City are in third position, having 25 points from the same number of games.
Chiefs’ Under-19s side, meanwhile, won 3-0. The goals against Setheo were netted by Sibusiso Milazi, Lebogang Matakanya and Reamohetswe Lekoatsa. The match good place at Chiefs Village.
Defensive midfielder Tshepo Myeni and goalkeeper Bontle Molefe both delivered fine performances for the side that is coached by Sundra Govinder.
Chiefs’ Under-19s are presently in second spot on the SAB league table (29 points from 14 games), three points behind log leaders, Stars of Africa.
The Amakhosi youngsters will face Bidboys, the Under-19s of Bidvest Wits, at Sturrock Park on Saturday, 26 January. Kick-off at 15:00.
