Sibusiso Khumalo has been handed his first start in an official game this season when Kaizer Chiefs face Maritzburg United this afternoon. The 28-year-old will be positioned at left-back.

Gustavo Páez replaces the suspended Leonardo Castro, who received a red card in Amakhosi’s league game on Tuesday.

Interim coach Patrick Mabedi has also decided to bring on the young defender Siyabonga Ngezana for Erick Mathoho.

The match between Chiefs and Maritzburg is an important one, as the sides are fighting for third position on the Absa Premiership log, which would result in qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup.

Amakhosi are at present fourth on the league table, while the Team of Choice are in third position having booked one point more (43 versus 42 points).

Chiefs will host Maritzburg in an Absa Premiership league encounter at FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon, 28 April (kick-off is at 15:00).
