Busy weekend for Chiefs Reserves and Juniors

Kaizer Chiefs first team have some respite this weekend with a welcome break after a busy time recently which has seen them travers the African continent and South Africa, they are not in action till Wednesday when they host Cape Town City in their next DSTV Premiership fixture. While Gavin Hunt’s charges have time off to recuperate lower down a host of other Chiefs teams will be featuring, with the reserve team playing Black Leopards in the DSTV Diski Challenge Rewired on Sunday in Stream 2, while the Chiefs youth teams will be facing off with Sundowns on Saturday morning in the Gauteng development league.

Chiefs reserve team kicked off their league campaign last weekend with a 2-0 loss to Orlando Pirates and will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they make a short journey across town to face Black Leopards. The game will be played at the Bidvest Stadium in Johannesburg on campus at the University of the Witwatersrand at 09h30 am on Sunday morning, given the current protocols surrounding COVID-19 there will be no fans in attendance the game though will be televised on DSTV Channel 202.

In the meantime the Chiefs U-13, U-15, U-17 and U-19 teams will be in action in the SAFA Gauteng Development League, they will be playing host to Mamelodi Sundowns at the Kaizer Chiefs village in Naturena. Once more as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic the games will be closed to spectators with just players and technical staff along with match officials at the game, the Chiefs U-13 and U-17 will begin the days at action. There games will start at 09h30 followed by the U-15 and U-19 matches which will begin at 12h30 pm.
