Kaizer Chiefs Reserves won their second game on the trot when they overpowered TTM Reserves in the DStv Diski Challenge festival of matches played at the Randburg Rugby Stadium on Sunday. 2-0 it ended.

The first goal came through a tricky take of a set play resulting in a goal from Kamohelo Hoala’s beautifully taken pile driver which gave TTM’s goalkeeper no chance in the 19th minute of the match. Lebohang Lesako sealed it for Amakhosi in the 30th minute with a neat grass cutter to make it 2-0.

It was a follow up of last week’s blistering opener when the Young Amakhosi defeated Mamelodi Sundowns Reserves 4-2. Against TTM, the dominant Chiefs once again dictated terms from the first whistle to the end. Sabelo Radebe copiloted proceedings with the tricky Lebohang Lesako.

The only change in the line-up saw the return of Keletso Sifama back from the U-20 National team duties.

“We missed several chances, some from three yards,” reflected coach Arthur Zwane. “We should not be missing these sort of chances. I am also not happy that we played in patches. We are still in pre-season mode, but we hope to pick up the tempo with more games. It is understandable at this stage of the games. It is work in progress.

“Darrel Matsheke was sent off for a second bookable offence. His energies were low and didn’t see the opponent because of lapse in concentration. He deserved the red card. We will miss him in the next two matches, but it is an opportunity for the other youngsters to seize the moment.”

Tshepo Mohlala was rewarded for his hard work with the Man of the Match award.
