Four Kaizer Chiefs youth sides were in action in the second round of the 2018 Gauteng Development League on Saturday, 17 March. The matches took place at the soccer grounds of the Sir John Adamson High School in Winchester Hills.

Amakhosi’s Under-13, Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19 teams faced their counterparts of the University of Pretoria (Tuks).

The U-13s won 3-2, the U-15s won 2-0, the U-17s drew 1-1 and the U-19s won 9-1.

“It’s nice to see Kaizer Chiefs players as young as 11-years-old compete in the Gauteng Development League,” comments Ace Khuse, who is in charge of the Under-15s. “The youngsters are really enjoying themselves and playing good football.”

Amakhosi’s U-19s were impressive with the talented striker Yaseen Bunting scoring five of the goals in the 9-1 victory.

Meanwhile, another U-19s side, which competes in the SAB League and includes players from Amakhosi’s reserve side, still tops the log, being four points ahead of the number two in the league standings, Orlando Pirates.

This U-19s side, which is coached by Arthur Zwane, will face Senoane Gunners at Soweto’s Moletsane Stadium on Wednesday, 21 March (kick-off is at 11:00), before playing arch-rivals Orlando Pirates at Randburg Stadium on Sunday, 25 March (kick-off at 15:00).
