The Amakhosi junior teams had a mixed day in their SAFA Gauteng Development League (GDL) encounter with TS Galaxy at the Village on Sunday.
A nice turnout of supporters came out to see some of the stars of tomorrow express themselves on Youth Day and were treated to some exciting football.
The day didn’t get off to the best of starts for the hosts, with the U-13s going down 1-0 in the opening game. The U-15s, however, fared far better, winning their match by a resounding score of 4-0.
The afternoon session saw the U-17s play to a 2-2 draw, followed by a thrilling 3-2 victory for the U-19s in the final fixture, to send the fans home smiling.
Two catch-up matches for the U-17s and U-19s against NWU Vaal that were scheduled for Monday, 17 June, have been put forward again, with the new dates to be announced.
The GDL now takes a short break for the school holidays and resumes on Saturday, 13 July, with the teams making a trip to Alberton Football Club to face Sevens Academy.
