Kaizer Chiefs U-19s saved the best for last at the Village on Saturday by thrashing Joburg City 9-0 in the final match of a productive day for the Club’s development teams in the SAFA Gauteng Development League (GDL).
In the opening encounter, the Amakhosi u-13s drew 0-0, followed by a 4-1 win for the U-15s. In the afternoon, the U-17s came out on top by 4-2, before the U-19s completed an undefeated series against Joburg City in emphatic fashion.
On Sunday, the Amakhosi U-17s earned a 1-1 draw away to Highlands Park in a catch-up game that had been postponed earlier in the season.
The GDL continues this weekend when the four age-group teams travel to Emmerentia where they will face Wits Juniors at Marks Park on Saturday, 8 June, commencing at 9:00.
The following morning, Sunday 9 June, the U-17s will play Kathorus Hyper Academy in another catch-up fixture at the Village, kicking off at 9:00.
