Wrapping up on a high – Zwane

“We are playing the penultimate match of the season and the aim is to finish on a high,” comments Kaizer Chiefs reserve side coach Arthur Zwane. “We started slow and also rue the numerous goalscoring opportunities we couldn’t convert, as we could have easily won some of the matches that we lost.”

Zwane was speaking ahead of this weekend’s Asidlali Festival of MultiChoice Diski Challenge (MDC) matches taking place at Tembisa’s Makhulong Stadium.

Chiefs Reserves will go toe to toe against Platinum Stars Reserves on Saturday, 17 February. Kick-off is at 12:00. The reserve sides of AmaZulu and Maritzburg United will raise the curtains at 10.

“We have been doing well lately,” Zwane points out. “We have showed some character by clawing ourselves back to be in the top 8 after a bumpy start. We have prepared very well for this game. Stars are not in a good space at the moment, languishing second from bottom in the log. But it is common knowledge that teams nearly always up their performance when facing Amakhosi. We are ready for them and want to win the match.”

Chiefs go into this encounter standing in seventh position on the MDC log. “I am especially glad seeing us scoring goals, 27 in 13 games,” says Zwane.

The young Glamour Boys beat Free State Stars 3-2 in their last match, while Platinum Stars were held to a goalless scoreline at home by Baroka FC. “We are looking forward to the game,” concludes the Chiefs coach.

FREE TICKETS are already available at Makhulong Stadium! No ID is required to obtain your tickets and they will additionally be available tomorrow from 13:00 onwards.

All matches taking place at Makhulong Stadium will be shown live on SuperSport (SS4/SS10).
