All the office staff members and the backroom boys got Appreciation Awards from the club's managing director Kaizer Motaung, who also made a special welcome to defender Isaac Mabotsa, who returned from a six-week stay a rehabilitation centre in Johannesburg.
"This is the time of the year when we have to reward those who play a significant role in the success of the club," said Motaung. "As you go away be responsible in whatever you do."
"I must also take this opportunity to welcome back Isaac Mabotsa, who was brave in coming out and admitting that he had a problem. To Isaac, the real challenge start now," he said.
The occasion also presented Chiefs with the opportunity to wish their business partners well in the New Year. The majority, if not all, attended the function.
After a sumptuous lunch and desserts it was now off to the dance floor with goalkeeper Brian Baloyi and club PRO Putco Mafani leading the way. But most of the players appeared to have the Manning Rangers game in mind than anything.
The Rangers game at Chatsworth on Sunday will be the last before the players take a short Christmas break. They will then return just after the New Year in time for their next league match scheduled for January 4.
The players could have had a three-week break but due to postponements at the beginning of the season, they will have to make do with whatever little time they have.
