Kaizer Chiefs Marketing and Commercial Director, Jessica Motaung, attended the Africa Club Association (ACA) meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, held on 22 October, following the 46th General Assembly of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) earlier in the day. The meeting was led by ACA President, Eng. Hersi Said, and attended by board members representing the six CAF zones.

The gathering aimed to outline strategies for elevating club football standards on the continent through the newly established structure. Key discussions focused on strengthening commercial opportunities for clubs and bridging the gap with European football standards.

The ACA's primary objective is to safeguard and promote the interests of African clubs. To achieve this, the organization plans to create a unified platform for continental clubs to share challenges, identify solutions, and collaborate.

"I'm honoured to be part of this pivotal moment in African football history. The ACA represents a significant step towards unity, cooperation, and growth among our continent's clubs. These gatherings pave the way for a brighter future, and I'm committed to contributing to the progress of African football,” said Motaung.

"The continent boasts incredible football talent, and the ACA marks a crucial milestone in unlocking our continent's full potential. We must strengthen commercial opportunities so that we can create a sustainable football ecosystem that benefits everyone involved in the football business, she added.

Prior to the ACA meeting, Chairperson Said and Vice-Chairperson Motaung attended the CAF General Assembly as guests, receiving recognition from CAF President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe. Amongst the other guests were the President of Ethiopia, H.E Taye Atske Selassie, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

This year's assembly was a pivotal event for African football, drawing delegates from CAF member associations, zonal unions, and prominent global football figures. Dr. Motsepe highlighted CAF's achievements over the past year and unveiled initiatives aimed at driving growth and investment in African football.
