As many South Africans and other people around the world make their way home after taking a break for the long Easter weekend, Kaizer Chiefs are in action this Monday afternoon against Orbit College at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha.

This Betway Premiership clash marks Amakhosi’s 21st game of the season, and they will be eager for victory in their quest to collect as many points as possible in the final 10 matches.

With 20 games played, the Glamour Boys have 36 points, placing them fourth on the log. Their hosts, Orbit College, sit second from the bottom with 18 points from 22 outings.

Chiefs head into the fixture on the back of two consecutive wins before the two-week FIFA break, and they will be determined to extend that run to three. Orbit, nicknamed the Mswenko Boys, are fighting to retain their Premiership status and will be desperate to pick up victories in their remaining eight matches.

It promises to be a tough battle, as three points could prove crucial for both sides’ aspirations to finish as high as possible when the curtain falls on the campaign on 23 May.

On the injury front, Amakhosi’s medical team has reported no new concerns, with several players having recovered during the break. Most notably, Reeve Frosler is back in the team after several months out, Ethan Chislett and Sibongiseni Mthethwa also return to the squad, much to the relief of the coaching staff.

Chiefs also welcomed back assistant coach Cedric Kaze, who rejoined the team after working with Burundi during the international break, where they convincingly beat Chad 4-0 both home and away.

Two changes to the side secured a 2-0 victory over Magesi a fortnight ago. Inacio Miguel and Dillan Solomons will be replaced by Given Msimango and Thabiso Monyane, respectively.

It is once again a 4-3-3 formation for Amakhosi.

Bruce Bvuma, who has kept two clean sheets in the last two matches, is the keeper.

At the back, Amakhosi have Bradley Cross on the left, Aden McCarthy and Msimango at centre-back, with Monyane on the right.

Lebohang Maboe is in midfield, working just behind Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Mduduzi Tshabalala who fill the attacking roles.

Pule Mmodi is on the left wing and Glody Lilepo is on the right.

Wandile Duba, who scored in the last game, is the main striker.

The skipper’s armband will be worn by Bvuma.

Skhumbuzo Gasa is the referee responsible for this afternoon. Bongani Mathete and Thabo Twayise as his assistants. Sicelo Velaphi is the fourth official.

The Betway Premiership match between the Glamour Boys and the Mswenko Boys on this public holiday commences at 15:00 at Gqeberha’s Nelson Mandela Bay stadium.

The match is live on SuperSport’s PSL channel 202 on DStv and various SABC radio stations. There will be regular updates on the Club’s X (formerly known as Twitter) account, @kaizerchiefs.
