Kaizer Chiefs supporter, Sposihle Mabusela, has been handed the keys to a brand-new home in Soweto after winning the grand prize in the Sta’Playa campaign, a fan-focused initiative launched earlier this year by SuperSportBet.
Mabusela, a lifelong Amakhosi fan, was selected through a nationally operated, independently audited draw that received thousands of entries. Speaking at the handover, an emotional Mabusela described the moment as life-changing.
“Owning a home was always a distant dream, something we spoke about quietly, never knowing if it would happen,” she said, “When I received that call, I went numb. It felt like the world paused. What makes this win so emotional is knowing my ancestors are smiling today.”
Also present at the handover were Kaizer Chiefs players Rushwin Dortley and Brandon Petersen, alongside club officials who joined in celebrating the milestone with Mabusela.
Kaizer Chiefs’ Marketing and Commercial Director, Jessica Motaung, praised the campaign’s impact and highlighted the club’s commitment to giving back to the community.
“This isn’t just about a prize,” Motaung said, “It’s about recognising the people who carry this club through every season. Sposihle’s win reminds us why our supporters are the foundation of Kaizer Chiefs. Through campaigns like Sta’Playa, we’re not just talking about community impact, but we’re seeing it happen.”
Launched in February 2025, the Sta’Playa campaign was designed to celebrate the passion of South African football fans. According to SuperSportBet Managing Director Grant Greeff, the initiative was about putting fans first.
“We created Sta’Playa to honour the heartbeat of South African football the supporters,” Greeff said, “Sposihle isn’t just the winner of a house; she represents the passion, loyalty and spirit that lives in every supporter. We’re incredibly privileged to have played a part in this life-changing moment with her.”
For Mabusela, the new house means stability and a sense of security, but something she says she never imagined would come through her support of a football club.
