Following this morning’s announcement of the acquisition of Etiosa Ighodaro, Kaizer Chiefs are pleased to confirm the signing of another forward, Luke Baartman, making him the Club’s ninth signing of the 2025/26 season.

The 19-year-old junior international joins Amakhosi from Cape Town Spurs, where he played in the Motsepe Foundation League last season. He has also represented South Africa at the junior level.

"We’re thrilled to welcome Luke to our team," says Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr. "He is an exciting young talent that we’ve been monitoring for the past few seasons both at Club level, in the Bayhill Cup - where he was voted player of the tournament - and the U-17 national team that played at AFCON. We believe he will bring valuable versatility, playing both as a centre-forward and a winger. We look forward to seeing him in action soon."
