Reserves draw in DDC while juniors do well in GDL

Defending DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) champions, Kaizer Chiefs reserves, were held to a 2-2 draw in their home fixture against Marumo Gallants reserves at Dobsonville stadium on Sunday.

Amakhosi came back from a 1-0 half-time deficit to lead 2-1 through goals from Donay Jansen and Matala Makhubo, only to concede a late equaliser in the dying minutes.

The point gained elevates Chiefs one place into seventh position in the national U23 league standings, with nine points after seven rounds. Next up, they face an away game against Magesi on Saturday, 25 October.

On Saturday in the SAFA Gauteng Development League, The Kaizer Chiefs youth development teams performed admirably on their visit to play Rockefvs at the ACCP grounds.

The U14s won 3-1, followed by two resounding victories, first by the U15s, 4-0, and then a 5-2 rout in the U17 match. The U19s were unfortunate to go down 2-1 in the final encounter on a generally good day for the academy. This coming Saturday, 25 October, Chiefs host Joburg City at the Village, commencing at 9:00am.
