05 April 2002 will forever be engraved in the minds of many of the staffers at Naturena in particular the Executive Chairman, Kaizer Motaung as today (Thursday, 05 April 2012) marked a decade since former President, Dr Nelson Mandela officially opened the Kaizer Chiefs Village.



On that day, ‘Madiba’ who had already stepped down as the President of the Republic took time to spend an afternoon at Chiefs Village meeting the staff and the entire team.



Motaung SNR who remembering the day told kaizerchiefs.com; “Having moved offices around Johannesburg in the past four decades, I remember that day as if it was yesterday and I am sure I speak for everyone who was part of that momentous occasion.



We have now embarked on a massive project to expand the Village and work has already started,” revealed the Executive Chairman.



One of the Main attractions at the Club’s Village today is the Kaizer Chiefs Store where fans are able to buy authentic Club merchandise. The place was also a tourist attraction during the 2010 World Cup as people streamed in to witness the Head Offices for arguably the biggest sporting institution in the entire continent.
