“We are occupying the second spot in the Bundesliga at the moment (second to the reigning champions FC Bayern München). We haven’t lost a game, the same as Chiefs are doing currently,” says Lutz Pfannenstiel [Head of International Relations and Scouting] and Thomas Richter [Head of Professional Team and Organisation] from the German outfit TSG 1899 Hoffenheim following their visit to the Kaizer Chiefs Village, in Naturena on Tuesday morning.

“The aim of our visit is to assess the facilities in South Africa for our winter-pre season in January 2015. This is another great opportunity to strengthen our engagement between us and Chiefs,” the German duo stated in one voice.

Football Manager Bobby Motaung has visited Hoffenheim previously, he says, “Hoffenheim has one of the best facilities you can find in football. The technology they use in their youth development is one of the best in the world.”

Kaizer Chiefs and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim are enjoying a collaborative relationship with Chiefs and former marksman Knowledge Musona is currently in the books of 1899 Hoffenheim.

Thomas, “The Chiefs setup is professional. The facilities are similar to what you will find in Europe. You have the best opportunity to grow as a leading club in Africa.”

Lutz, “The Chiefs Village is a nice professional facility. It is a good facility to grow new talent and become a leading club in your league. Looking at the plans to develop the facility, the juniors will be motivated to be closer to the seniors, which is good for development.”

Thomas and Lutz toured the Chiefs Village, and had an opportunity to meet the Chiefs Management. Marketing Director Jessica Motaung also had a brief discussion and a photo shoot opportunity with the duo whom before leaving the Village expressed gratitude for the hospitality they received from the Amakhosi.
