Siphiwe Tshabalala has played down the 4-1 win over Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday in the Gauteng Football Cup. He insisted that there is still a lot of work to be done before the start of the season.

The midfielder scored with a spectacular bicycle kick following a sublime cross from George Lebese inspiring Amakhosi to a convincing win.

“It was good to win the cup and score four goals. We combined very well as the team and the buildup to goals was amazing.

I was happy to score a beautiful goal on the day. The technique was good and the bounce helped as well. I always want to contribute to the success of the team and it will not be different this coming weekend.

I do feel though we have a lot of work to do before the start of the season. There is always room for improvement. We all know it is not going to be easy and we are working together with our Technical Team to take our game to the next level,” said Shabba.

The Glamour Boys will face Orlando Pirates in the Carling Black Label Cup on Saturday and Shabba speaking to the gathered media at Kaizer Chiefs Village said; “We are playing against a big team in Orlando Pirates. They are going into Saturday’s game having won the competition twice.

We also want to win it and we will go to FNB on Saturday with the mentality to win.”

The selection for the game is done by the supporters; “I do not follow week in week out on who the supporters are voting for, all I try to do is to work hard in training and try to improve.” concluded Shabba.
