Club’s second in command, Donald ‘Ace’ Khuse believes that Ivory Coast will win the Africa Cup of Nations currently underway in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.
Ivory Coast led by marksman Chelsea’s Didier Drogba will take on Mali led by Barcelona’s, Seydou Keita in one of the semi-finals being played on Wednesday evening.
“Ivory Coast should win the Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday,” said Khuse speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Wednesday morning.
“They started on a low note and they seem to be gaining more confidence as the tournament progresses,” pointed out Khuse.
“They have a solid group with some of their players playing for the best teams in Europe. I like Yaya (Toure). He has been outstanding and is the heartbeat of the team. He makes them play, a true talisman and with him I believe this is their time to win the tournament.
Khuse also heaped praise on neighbours, Zambia who take on Ghana in one of the semi-finals on Wednesday; “They have shown that you can go far with determination. In each and every game they play you can see they want to win the tournament. Zambians also play good football and are deadly upfront with the likes of Chris Katongo.
I tip them to beat Ghana and meet Ivory Coast in the final. When you play in the final anything can happen…but I think Ivory Coast has an edge. We will have to wait and see what happens,” added the legendary midfielder with a smile.
The final of the Africa Cup of Nations will be played on Sunday, 12 February 2012 in Libreville, Gabon.
