For a short while at around 10h00am on Wednesday morning any one calling the Kaizer Chiefs village looking for the chairman Kaizer Motaung or any other member of staff would have been greeted by a voice messaging system.
This was due to the fact that the entire Amakhosi staff were busy during the teams official photo shoot, which usually takes place at the start of the new season but was delayed for various technicalities this year.
With the same kind of atmosphere one would feel at the beginning of a school year or for that matter on the last day of school spread around as players and back room staff mingled and fooled about in a relaxed environment.
Rowen Fernandez put web master Yusuf Muhammad through his paces in the goal and the web master stunned all when he saved a Fabian McCarthy penalty.
For the first time in the clubs thirty five year history were all members of staff invited to participate in the first team photograph, which included front office secretary Kelina Khumalo and club chairman Kaizer Motaung’s personal assistant Sophia Nkosi.
Dara Carroll the Amakhosi’s brand manager said: “It has taken us a good few months to plan this photo shoot because we had people moving in out of town and with the Soweto derby out of the way we had more time on our hands."
The 2005-2006 official team picture will appear in the November issue of Amakhosi Magazine, which will be out on sale from the 16th November. There will be pictures of the team in all three of their official playing jerseys, which they have been using through the season.
