The Redhill learners, who have adopted the NOAHS Ark Centre close to the Diepsloot informal settlement that lies between Pretoria and Johannesburg, have throughout the year helped the centre with fund raising activities as well as regular visits by learners who assist as volunteers at the centre.
Thursday’s visit by the Amakhosi players coincided with World Aids Day, commemorated annually on the 1st December.
A Christmas party had been laid on for the 110 Orphans who are cared for by the centre.
The players handed out Gifts donated by The Redhill School and also gifts donated by Kaizer Chiefs, after signing more than 130 autograph cards a truly moved John Shoes Moshoeu said of the meeting with the orphaned youngsters.
“With the kind of situation these children have no parents and some of them have AIDS - you would not expect them to be as cheerful as they are, I am really touched by what I have seen here today and will definitely be visiting the centre again”.
Shoes also heaped praises upon the Red Hill School learners commenting “ in today’s world where everyone is for himself it is really nice to see, children from a social environment where they are very fortunate coming out and lending more than just a hand to those who are certainly less fortunate.
From what I have witnessed that the NOAHS Ark kids have really taken a liking to these guys from Redhill, it is such endeavours and strides made by people that helps to unite our unique country”.
Another attendee at the event midfielder Scara Ngobese had the following parting shot “guys who are wreckless and sleep around without using condoms don’t really understand what kind of problems they really cause.
If you take these children at this centre none of them asked to be orphaned or be born with HIV/AIDS they are a creation of someone’s wreckless legacy - At the end of the day these innocent children suffer the most.
